Story of Jal Mandir, Pawapuri
According to Jain tradition, devotees collected soil from the cremation site of Lord Mahavira as a mark of reverence, and over time a large pond was formed. The white marble temple was later built in the centre of the pond and is reached by a long stone bridge.
The temple holds the Charan Paduka, the sacred footprints of Lord Mahavira.
