    🕉About Kedarnath Dham Darshan

    The Kedarnath Temple stands at about 3,583 metres in the Garhwal Himalayas, beside the Mandakini river. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is part of the Char Dham. Tradition links its origin with the Pandavas, and Adi Shankaracharya is remembered as having revived it.

    The temple is built of large stone slabs and is reached by a trek of roughly 16 km from Gaurikund, or by helicopter from nearby helipads. It is open only in the warmer months, and in winter the deity is worshipped at Ukhimath.
