    🕉About Jagannath Puri Temple Darshan

    The Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri was built in the twelfth century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva of the Ganga dynasty. It is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, worshipped with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, and is one of the Char Dham sites.

    The temple has a tall shikhara topped by the Nilachakra and four gateways, of which the Singhadwara, the Lion Gate, is the main entrance. Mahaprasad cooked in the temple kitchen is shared at Ananda Bazar.
