Om Namo Venkateshaya! Tirumala is the abode of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji), an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Located atop the seven hills of Seshachalam, it is the busiest and richest temple in the world. Millions of devotees visit every year to seek blessings.
1. How to Book Tickets (Crucial)
Getting a darshan can take anywhere from 4 hours to 24 hours depending on the crowd. To save time, you must book the Special Entry Darshan (SED) tickets.

2. The Famous Laddu Prasadam
No visit to Tirupati is complete without the world-famous Srivari Laddu. It has a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, meaning it cannot be made anywhere else. It is prepared in the temple kitchen known as ‘Potu’ by special priests using pure ghee, cashews, and raisins.
3. Dress Code (Strictly Followed)
The temple administration is very strict about the dress code. Western outfits are not allowed.
- Men: Dhoti or Pyjama with Upper Cloth (Kurta/Shirt). No Jeans or Shorts.
- Women: Saree or Chudidar with Dupatta. No Jeans or T-shirts.
4. Hair Tonsure (Mokku)
Many devotees offer their hair to the Lord as a symbol of sacrificing their ego. There are special halls (Kalyana Katta) where this is done hygienically before taking a holy bath in the Pushkarini.
