Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,583 meters, Kedarnath is one of the holiest pilgrimages (Char Dham). It is believed that Pandavas built the original temple to seek redemption from Lord Shiva, who appeared here in the form of a Bull’s hump.

History & Legend
Legend has it that after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought Shiva’s forgiveness. Shiva hid from them by turning into a bull and diving into the ground, leaving his hump at Kedarnath. The temple was later revived by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century.
