Significance of the Seva

Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad) is known as “Teerthraj”—the king of all holy places—because it hosts the confluence of three sacred rivers: Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati. Maghi Purnima marks the conclusion of the auspicious Magh month, when a holy bath at the Sangam is believed to wash away lifetimes of karmic debts and grant moksha (liberation).

According to ancient scriptures, bathing at the Sangam on this day is equivalent to performing a thousand Ashwamedha Yajnas. The Snan Sankalp ritual involves taking a sacred dip while invoking your Name, Gotra, and family lineage, ensuring that the spiritual benefits reach all your ancestors and future generations. Following the bath, the Satyanarayan Katha—a powerful narrative of Lord Vishnu—is recited to ensure family harmony, prosperity, and the fulfillment of righteous desires.

This combined ritual performed during Brahma Muhurta (pre-dawn hours) at the Sangam carries immense spiritual power, making it highly recommended for ancestral blessings (Tarpan) and removing obstacles from your life path.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive the Sangam water?
This specific booking is for the ritual and Katha ceremony only. If you require physical Sangam Jal (holy water) delivery to your home, please check our separate ‘Divine Water Collection’ offering or contact our support team.
Is the Satyanarayan Katha performed privately?
The Snan Sankalp is completely private and personalized with your details. The Satyanarayan Katha is often performed in a small group setting for efficiency, but your individual names are clearly mentioned in the opening and closing Sankalp prayers.
When exactly does the ritual take place?
The holy bath and ritual are performed precisely during Brahma Muhurta (approximately 4:30-5:30 AM) on the dawn of Maghi Purnima day at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, which is the most spiritually auspicious time.
Can I add my spouse and children’s names?
Yes, absolutely! You can include your spouse, children, and immediate family members in the Sankalp. Simply mention all their names along with the Gotra in the ‘Message’ field during booking, and the Purohit will include everyone in the ritual.
Is this ritual good for Pitra Dosha?
Yes, Maghi Purnima Snan at Prayagraj is highly recommended for ancestral blessings and resolving Pitra Dosha (ancestral afflictions). The holy bath followed by Tarpan (offerings to ancestors) at the Sangam is considered one of the most powerful remedies in Vedic tradition.
What if I miss the Maghi Purnima date?
While Maghi Purnima is the most auspicious day, Sangam Snan rituals can be performed on other sacred dates as well, such as Amavasya, other Purnimas, or during special celestial alignments. Contact our support team to schedule an alternative auspicious date.
